The beauty of the city that never sleeps
In February Giulia and I visited New York City for some days. As a special Valentine’s present for my girlfriend (and myself) we flew Business Class. Many thanks to the Swiss Air Lines crew for the cordial service! Despite windy weather and temperatures around -10 degrees Celsius we enjoyed our stay. As accommodation we chose the Hilton Garden Inn with a great view to the Empire State Building. The Hotel is located centrally and very close to the Broadway and Herald Square, where you may find Macy’s and Victoria’s Secret.
The High Line is a 1 mile long park built on a former railroad called the West Side Line. The High Line is located along the Lower West Side of Manhattan and runs from Gansevoort Street to 30th Street.
At the Museum Of Modern Art we visited the architecture and design gallery. On the left: Revolving Armchair by Charlotte Perriand, Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret. On the right: Child’s Chair (model 103) by Alvar Aalto and Aino Aalto.
Before we went to see a Boardway musical we took this beautiful picture of the sunset in New York City.
